Michael C. Miller, a lawyer for actor Kiefer Sutherland, issued a comment today regarding the actor's May 5th arrest. (Sutherland allegedly head-butted fashion designer Jack McCollough at a Met costume gala after-party.) The statement reads:
"We are troubled by the untruthful and self-serving information circulating regarding Kiefer Sutherland and events of last Monday evening.
"We are troubled by the untruthful and self-serving information circulating regarding Kiefer Sutherland and events of last Monday evening.
We are confident, however, that the investigation being conducted by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office
and the NYPD will confirm that Kiefer Sutherland
was neither the instigator nor a wrongdoer in this incident.
Out of respect for this law enforcement process,
Kiefer Sutherland will not be making any comment.
" Parties close to Sutherland and Fox continue to say they don't expect fallout from the assault charge to disrupt the actor's schedule,
which this month includes attending Fox's upfront presentation to advertisers,
appearing with his band on Jimmy Fallon and resuming production on 24.
Sutherland was charged for third-degree assault May 7 and is due back in Manhattan court on June 22. The Class A misdemeanor could cost him up to a year in jail, an NYPD spokesperson tells EW.
